Wayne Community College’s Criminal Justice Technology curriculum is designed to provide students with the knowledge of the criminal justice system’s role within society. This program is structured to prepare students for a variety of exciting career choices in the public services.
At Wayne Community College we hope to build upon our service to the community with continued training through Continuing Education, our highly respected Basic Law Enforcement Training program, and now our Emergency Preparedness Technology program.
The Criminal Justice Technology Program at Wayne Community College is a program of study leading to an Associates of Applied Science degree. Graduates from our program will have opportunities for further study at the four-year level, or can use their degree to seek employment and promotional opportunities immediately after completing the program. Many of our students will eventually go on to complete Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) in order to become sworn law enforcement officers, while other complete the program for advancement and further educational opportunities.
Employment opportunities exist at the local, state, and federal levels. They include positions with state, county, and city law enforcement departments as well as correctional facilities. Educational institutions, private industry, retail loss prevention, and human service care providers provide additional employment opportunities.
Wayne Community College is located in Goldsboro, North Carolina in the coastal plain of the state. Our centralized location in Eastern North Carolina puts us in a position to take advantage of the unique opportunities our area provides.
