Comprehensive Standard 3.2.10: Administrator Evaluation
The institution evaluates the effectiveness of its administrators, including the chief executive officer, on a periodic basis.
Judgment of the Off-Site Review Committee:  Non-Compliance
Comments:  The committee finds sufficient evidence that there is a policy and procedure in place to evaluate the president and evidence that the procedure has been followed.  The procedure for evaluation of administrative personnel is documented in other sections of the compliance certification report, notably under 3.7.2.  A blank staff appraisal form was provided.  The institution did not provide representative samples and charts verifying annual or periodic evaluations of administrative staff.
The College stated that completed appraisal forms are located in the employee’s personnel file but did not submit any to the Committee. (Committee Edit?) The institution did not provide representative samples or administrative charts verifying annual or periodic evaluations of the administrative staff.
The on-site committee should verify that administrative staff evaluations are being conducted in accordance with college policy and that the appraisal forms are appropriately filed in the employee’s personnel file.
College Focused Response:  The Off-Site Committee requested to see representative samples and charts verifying annual or periodic evaluations of administrative staff.  The WCC Annual Personnel Evaluation Sample, 2002-2004 chart confirms that personnel evaluations on administrative staff are conducted annually.  A sample of individual performance evaluations can be accessed within the chart by clicking on the members name highlighted in blue.
As a result, the college certifies compliance with this comprehensive standard.
