Federal Requirements 4.8: Compliance with Title IV Program Responsibilities
The institution is in compliance with its program responsibilities under Title IV of the 1998 Higher Education Amendments.
Judgment of Off-Site Review Committee: Non-Compliance
Comments:  The committee finds that the College states compliance; however, the documentation is not adequate.  The institution needs to provide specific information such as a letter from the U. S. Department of Education approving the College’s continued participation and specific audit information.
The onsite committee should review documentation to determine compliance.
College Focused Response:  Wayne Community College is in compliance with its program responsibilities under Title IV Programs as stated in the Eligibility and Certification Approval Report and the Participation Agreement dated June 21, 2001. The approval to administer Title IV aid is effective through March 31, 2007.   In addition, we also re-verified via an email, the college’s eligibility for Title IV from the Department of Education on June 28, 2005.  The college receives funds for the Federal Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, Federal Work Study, and the Federal Family Educational Loan Programs [Federal Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford Loans and the Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students (PLUS)].
The Title IV programs are audited each year by the State Auditors under the Single Audit Act. The college's last audits for the Title IV programs have met the federal requirements. The 2003-2004 audit was completed in November 2004 with no findings.
As a result, the college certifies compliance with this federal requirement.
