Q: Who can enroll in this program?
A: The North Carolina Community College System is designed to provide education to the citizens of our state. You must have a high school diploma to complete your enrollment. No additional requirements are necessary.
Q: How do I enroll?
A: WCC has an open door admission policy. New students should contact a school counselor, fill out an application for admission, schedule a placement test, visit the financial aid office, and contact the forestry department.
Q: Why should I enroll?
A: If you are interested in the outdoors and conserving our natural resources this will be a satisfying career path for you. If you would like the outdoors to be your office, we provide the means. If you want to be involved with a close knit student body with like minded interests we provide the setting.

A: WCC is located in Goldsboro, NC. Goldsboro is in the upper coastal plain approximately 1 hour east of Raleigh and 1 hour west of New Bern. Visit our Map for a visual aid.
Q: What type of degree is obtained through this program?
A: An Associates of Applied Science Degree in Forest Management Technology is the result of the curriculum. 72 credit hours of course work and a minimum 2.000 GPA is required to obtain this degree.
Q: What type of employment can this degree open for me?
A: Our degree prepares graduates to fill entry level positions in a variety of forestry and natural resources related jobs with such employers as: State and federal forest services, private industrial forestry organizations, environmental consultant organizations, forestry consulting organizations, and a multitude of other natural resources related organizations.
Q: What is involved with the coursework in this degree?
A: We strive to maintain a practical, technical, blend of hands on fieldwork and classroom material. We also strive to bring our work experience into course material in order to prepare students adequately for the tasks they will face in their jobs. Most of our forestry classes have an associated lab section.
Q: What is the expense of this education?
A: We provide a reasonable cost, quality education. Tuition varies year to year but remains very affordable compared to other institutions. Current tuition rates can be obtained by viewing the Admissions and Registration Expenses page. Book costs vary by course but will comprise the other major portion of expenditures. Beyond this, students are required to purchase several low cost items such as a hardhat, compass, etc
