Comprehensive Standard 3.4.8: Academic Credit for Noncredit Work

The institution awards academic credit for course work taken on a noncredit basis only when there is documentation that the noncredit course work is equivalent to a designated credit experience.

Judgment of Compliance: The College certifies COMPLIANCE.

Narrative:

The College does not award academic credit for course work taken on a noncredit basis.

Regularly enrolled students may request a challenge examination (credit by exam) in an effort to receive credit for noncredit course work or experiences. Credit is based on a departmental examination under the direction of the department head. Credit hours will count toward graduation; however, these will not be included in grade point average because grades and grade points are not recorded.
