The organizational structure at Wayne Community College designates division and department heads as the individuals with primary responsibility for program coordination and curriculum development and review. Department heads report to division heads; division heads report to the Vice President of Academic Affairs. The college has four academic division heads and eleven department heads, all of whom have the academic qualifications to provide effective management of curriculum in their respective areas. The job descriptions for these positions outline the academic requirements and responsibilities for individuals assigned to the positions of division and department head. The essential duties and functions section of the job description indicates that the individual is responsible for the instructional planning, development and review of curriculum in the identified area.
