North Carolina General Statutes 115D-55 through 115D-58, 4A detail the budget process as required by state law. After the college’s Board of Trustees approves the Budget Resolution, the budgets are allocated to instructional and administrative departments. Each department head has online access to his/her departmental budget and may print it as needed (daily, weekly or monthly) to fit the needs of the department. If a department overspends its budget, the purchase requisition is rejected until the budget is revised or the purchase is canceled. Departments are asked at mid-year to review their areas and request additional funds if needed or to revert excess funds for use by other areas in the college.
