Narrative:
The highest degree offered by Wayne Community College (WCC) is the associate’s degree. The guidelines for awarding the associate’s degree are based on the semester credit hour system. WCC does not offer degrees at the baccalaureate, post-baccalaureate, graduate, or professional level.
As a member of the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS), the college is required to adhere to the NCCCS Curriculum Standards (Link requires internet connection.) for all of its curriculum programs. Curriculum standards for the Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree require a minimum of 64 and a maximum of 76 semester credit hours. The Associate in Art (AA), Associate in Science (AS), and the Associate in Fine Arts (AFA) degrees require a minimum of 64 and a maximum of 65 semester credit hours.
Wayne Community College offers forty associate’s degree programs that meet the NCCCS standards of a minimum of 64 semester hours.
