Carpentry Apprentice Program

The Carpentry Apprentice Program is designed with you in mind and provides you with a broad knowledge of the construction field. This program consists of three semesters: Carpentry I, II, and III. The sequence is aimed at taking you from basic tool and equipment through the entire house building process. In Carpentry I you will learn basic safety, hand tools and power tool use and safety. In Carpentry II you will receive a review and continuation of carpentry skills learned in Carpentry I. This semester safety, blueprints, wall framing, roof framing, roof covering materials, windows, door insulation and exterior finishes will be covered. You will be involved in a live hands-on project where you will construct doors, install windows, flashing and house wrap, preparing the building for vinyl siding and boxing. In Carpentry III you will discuss the importance of safety and material safety data sheet (MSDS). Salary Range: $20,800-29,060

Certificates available: You will receive a carpenter apprentice certificate upon successful completion of all three semesters. Average Class Size: 8 - 10
Things to Consider: Additional courses will be available to students who wish to obtain a certificate in the Fundamentals of Construction Methods.
