Career and College Promise (CCP)
The Career and College Promise (CCP) Program will save TIME and MONEY for qualified high school students. The program will allow qualified high school students to enroll in college courses –TUITION FREE– while still enrolled in high school classes. Qualified high school students can move forward on well-defined pathways in order to accelerate the completion of college credentials.
The CCP Program replaces all earlier dual-enrollment programs, including Huskins, Jump Start, Learn and Earn, and Learn and Earn online.
Program Pathways
CCP offers the following options or “pathways” for eligible high school juniors and seniors:
College Transfer Pathway (CT)
- Associate of Arts (AA)
- Associate of Science (AS)
- Associate in Nursing (ADN)
- Associate in Arts in Teacher Prep
- Associate in Science in Teacher Prep
Career and Technical Education Pathway (CTE)
- Agriculture and Natural Resources
- Business
- Early Childhood
- Emergency Management
- Engineering, Manufacturing, and Industrial Technologies
- Information Systems
- Medical Assisting
- Medical and Office Administration
- Public Safety
- Transportation
Cooperative Innovative High Schools
- Wayne Early Middle College High School (WEMCHS)
Located on the WCC Campus
- Wayne School of Engineering (WSE)
Located on the Goldsboro High School Campus
Eligibility requirements for Cooperative Innovative High School Programs are established jointly by local boards of education and local boards of trustees.
After a student becomes eligible for a pathway, the student can only take courses within that pathway, as required by program legislation. Depending on their eligibility, students may enroll in up to two (2) CTE and/or one (1) CT pathways at the same time.
Eligibility
College Transfer (CT) Pathway
The College Transfer Pathways allow students to the opportunity to earn college credits that transfer seamlessly to any North Carolina public or participating private college or university. College Transfer Pathways leading to and Associate’s Degree – Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Associate in Nursing, Associate in Arts in Teacher Prep., and Associate in Science in Teacher Prep.
- Be a High School Junior or Senior
- Have an unweighted high school GPA of 2.8 or higher on high school courses.
- OR demonstrate college readiness on an approved Diagnostic Assessment, as follows: Pre-ACT, ACT, PSAT, and/or SAT.

Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathway
The Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pathway allows students to earn a Certificate in a CTE field of study and is designed for students who want to work toward completion of a credential before graduating from high school. After a student has earned a Certificate, the student may continue in the same corresponding AAS program of study.
Eligibility
- Be a High School Junior or Senior
- Have a weighted GPA of 3.0 on high school courses or have the recommendation of the High School Principal
- Meet the prerequisites for the Career Pathway
To maintain eligibility for continued enrollment, a student must:
- Continue to make progress toward High School graduation.
- Maintain a 2.0 GPA in college coursework after completing two courses.
