Emerging Technologies Center
The National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security have designated Wayne Community College as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense through academic year 2028. We have created the Emerging Technologies Center within our Information Systems Technology department to inform students on how they can obtain this designation, in addition to news and resources on cyber defense in general.

The Cybersecurity program is a dynamic and comprehensive pathway designed to prepare you for a rewarding and in-demand career in the field of cybersecurity. This program equips you with the knowledge and skills needed to protect vital digital assets, combat cyber threats, and ensure the security of information systems. Through a combination of hands-on training, theoretical coursework, and real-world simulations, you will gain a deep understanding of network security, ethical hacking, risk assessment, and security compliance.
Graduates are well-prepared to pursue roles as cybersecurity analysts, ethical hackers, network security administrators, or to transfer to four-year institutions for further education.
