Wayne Community College, the Wayne County Public Library, and Wayne County Public Schools are partnering to host a College Accessibility Fair as part of the library’s Learning Studio Programming.
The event will take place Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 5–7 p.m. in the Wayne Learning Center (the main building on the College’s campus with the flag poles in front).
The College Accessibility Fair will provide information and support for students who may need accommodations while attending an educational institution beyond high school, including those seeking a workplace credential. Additionally, families will learn how to prepare their children for the transition.
Several colleges will have representatives sharing what support is offered by each of their institutions. There will also be representatives from the College Foundation of North Carolina and the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Vocational Rehabilitation to offer additional information and resources.
Middle school, high school, and college students, as well as their families, are welcome to attend this free event.
WCC encourages persons with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities. If you anticipate needing accommodations or have questions about access, contact the Accessibility Counselor at 919-739-6729.
