Dr. J. William “Bill” Claytor, Jr., DDS, MAGD, will present on the topic of “Healing Beyond Teeth: Opioids and Mental Health.”
Dr. Claytor is a distinguished dental professional with expertise in general dentistry, mental health, burnout prevention, and substance use disorders. Serving as Executive Director of North Carolina Caring Dental Professionals since 2022, he is also a Key Opinion Leader for Dentsply Sirona and visiting faculty at Spear Education. A recognized speaker and educator, Dr. Claytor lectures nationally on topics like the opioid crisis,
issues concerning dental patient marijuana use, and managing burnout and perfectionism. With accolades such as FAGD/MAGD, the AGD Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition Award, and service as an ADA consultant, his contributions span clinical education, peer-reviewed publications, and leadership in dental well-being initiatives.
The Dental Seminar Day is an annual event that provides Continuing Education Units for dentists and hygienists and serves as a fundraiser for the graduating WCC Dental Hygiene class.
