Wayne Community College’s Upsilon Chi chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa international honor society will host a week of awareness/recruitment activities for students Sept. 23–27.
Sept. 23 – Membership Monday
- An information table about PTK will be set up in the WLC Atrium.
Sept. 24 – Scholar Dollars Tuesday
- An information table about PTK will be set up in the WLC Atrium focusing on the scholarships side of the organization—scholarships for those continuing their associate’s degree or obtaining a bachelor’s/master’s/doctorate degree and for those with hardships staying enrolled.
- There will also be a “PTK Scholarships 101” webinar offered through PTK headquarters beginning at 4 p.m. (Students must be members of PTK to register for the webinar.)
Sept. 25 – Leadership Wednesday
- An information table about PTK will be set up in the WLC Atrium focusing on community leadership, as well as the PTK Edge programs and their benefits for students.
- An orientation session will be held in WLC 217 from 1–2 p.m. for all eligible/prospective students to gain insight into the organization.
- There will also be a “Going All In: Running for International Office” webinar offered through PTK headquarters beginning at 5 p.m. (Students must be members of PTK to register for the webinar.)
Sept. 26 – Service Driven Thursday
- An information table about PTK will be set up in the WLC Atrium focusing on the Honors in Action and College Projects. Students can learn about the service projects Upsilon Chi completes for the campus and community.
- An orientation session will be held in WLC 217 from 9:30–10:30 a.m. for all eligible/prospective students to gain insight into the organization.
- There will also be a “Leverage PTK: Boosting Your Resume and Competitive Applications” webinar offered through PTK headquarters beginning at 4 p.m. (Students must be members of PTK to register for the webinar.)
Sept. 27 – Fellowship Friday
- An information table about PTK will be set up in the WLC Atrium.
- All eligible members are invited to join the monthly Upsilon Chi chapter meeting to gain additional insight into what the organization does.
