Pell Recalculation Date and Financial Aid Eligibility
As per federal regulations, the Financial Aid and Veterans Services Office will recalculate federal aid based on your enrollment status as of the Pell Recalculation Date (PRD), also known as the Financial Aid Freeze Date, set by the college. The PRD is the point at which your enrollment is considered frozen for financial aid purposes.
If you register at the beginning of the semester and later add or drop courses before the PRD, your financial aid will be adjusted to reflect your eligibility based on the number of credit hours in which you are enrolled by the close of business on the PRD, provided that your official FAFSA results are on file at Wayne Community College.
If we receive your completed FAFSA after the published PRD, your financial aid eligibility will be determined based on your enrollment status on the date the official FAFSA results are received.
For students enrolled before the PRD:
Credits added after the PRD cannot be used to increase financial aid eligibility.
For students enrolling for the first time after the PRD:
Financial aid eligibility will be determined based on your initial enrollment status.
Pell Recalculation Dates
Semester | PRD |

Spring 2025 | February 6, 2025 |
Summer 2025 | June 5, 2025 |
Important
Your class attendance must be confirmed to meet the eligibility requirements for federal student aid. Failure to attend classes will result in the mandatory recalculation of your grant eligibility.
Financial Aid will not be adjusted due to changes in enrollment status after the PRD unless the student withdraws from school. In this case, the Return of Title IV Funds policy applies, and the enrollment status established on the withdrawal date determines Pell Grant eligibility.
