Wayne Community College graduate Ginger Moore is Wayne County’s new assistant manager.
The Wayne County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to offer the assistant county manager position to Human Resources Director Ginger Moore. Moore accepted the position and will start in her new role on Oct. 1, with an annual salary of $135,000.
The assistant county manager position was vacant after Chip Crumpler, who is also a WCC alumnus, was promoted to county manager in July.
“We are happy that Ginger has accepted this offer and look forward to her joining the county leadership team,” said Commission Chairman Joe Daughtery. “We had a very talented and diverse applicant pool for this position and spent weeks reviewing applications. Ginger knows our county, knows our employees and departments, and will bring a new perspective to the decisions we make.”
Moore was born in Goldsboro and is a native of Johnston County, where she graduated from Princeton High School. She earned an associate degree from WCC and a bachelor of science in Human Resource Management from the University of Mount Olive. She began working for Wayne County as the assistant human resource director on July 11, 2016 and was promoted to human resource director on July 1, 2019.
“I would like to thank the Wayne County Board of Commissioners and county manager for having confidence in me,” said Moore. “I am honored to support the board, our staff, and the residents of Wayne County in my role as assistant county manager.”
