A Wayne Community College instructor spoke at the 66th Association of College and University Biology Educators’ Annual Meeting held recently at the University of Portland in Oregon.
Biology Instructor Lynn Swafford presented on “Engaging Online Students with Interactive Google Slides Lessons.”
She discussed how she converted her in-person General Biology presentations into interactive Google Slides lessons for use in online asynchronous classes. Swafford covered not only how the lessons are structured but also what her students like about them.
This was Swafford’s third time presenting at the national conference and fourth time attending it. She was joined by fellow biology instructor Sondi Hoffman.
The annual meeting gathers biology educators from colleges and universities across the country to attend presentations on the whole spectrum of subdisciplines within biology.
