Wayne Community College invites the public to join it in honoring local veterans and military service members.
The college will hold its annual Veterans Celebration at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7 in the Atrium of the Wayne Learning Center (main building) on its Wayne Memorial Drive campus.
“All Wayne County veterans are invited to a short program and reception in their honor,” said Brenda Mercer Burgess, the college’s director of financial aid and veterans affairs. “The college community wants to shake their hands, listen to their stories, and thank them for what they have done for our country.”The college also will be hosting a Military and Partners Expo. It will run noon-3 p.m. and is also open to the public. Veterans groups, service branch representatives, and organizations that provide services to veterans and military members will man displays and provide information.
