Wayne Community College Workforce Continuing Education Services is accepting applications for scholarships for occupational training.
The State Employees’ Credit Union Bridge to Career Scholarship Program assists unemployed and underemployed adults, military veterans, and members of the National Guard with gaining marketable skills for future employment.
The scholarship is awarded to individuals taking Workforce Continuing Education courses that lead to a state-recognized or industry-supported professional credential. Applicants may be seeking to take an applicable course or already enrolled in one.
The scholarship reimburses students up to $500 for registration fees, books, certification fees, and course supplies.
Application deadline is Friday, Sept. 20 for scholarships for courses offered in Fall 2019 or Spring 2020.

The SECU Bridge to Career Program was established in 2018. The SECU Foundation’s financial commitment for the renewal of the SECU Bridge to Career Scholarship Program for the 2019-2020 program year is nearly $730,000.
