Wayne Community College is offering a course that will prepare students to meet entry-level requirements to be a Department of Social Services (DSS) Income Maintenance Caseworker.
“Phase I Human Services Exploration: DSS” examines the role of the income maintenance caseworker and covers skills and strategies that provide employability skills. It will be taught 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Aug. 6-Oct. 3 on the college’s main campus in Goldsboro.
Cost for the course is $125.
In order to register for this class, students must first attend an information session scheduled for 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 29. That session will be held in Room 123 of the Walnut Building at the college.
WCC Workforce Continuing Education Services is providing this course through its Human Resources Development (HRD) program. HRD provides employability skills training and career development courses for adults who are trying to find employment, transitioning back into the workforce, or working to redefine their professional vocation in today’s global market.
