Wayne Community College Workforce Continuing Education will offer a class on grilling.
“Grilling Essentials,” which will be taught by Charles Gilmore III, will provide the knowledge and skills needed to operate and cook on a grill and open-flame. Topics to be covered include types of grills, grill fuels, grill safety, grill cleanliness, grill tools, proper food handling techniques, USDA-approved safe minimum internal temperatures for meats, and basic knife skills.
By the end of the course, students will be able to cook a three-course meal on the grill.
It will be held 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday, June 9, in Room 161 of the Wayne Learning Center and 9 a.m.-4 p.m., on Saturday, June 16, on the “Graduation Field,” both locations on the college’s main campus in Goldsboro. The rain date for the outdoor portion is Saturday, June 23.
The $50 cost covers all supplies and food needed for the course. It can be paid at the Workforce Continuing Education Customer Service Desk, at the East Entrance of the Walnut Building on the college’s campus.
