Joanna Morrisette has been named the 2018-2019 Katrina V. Miller Administrator of the Year by the North Carolina Association of Educational Office Professionals (AEOP).
Morrisette, Wayne Community College’s associate vice president for academic and student services, was selected the 2018 Administrator of the Year at the college and the district AEOP levels, which put her in the running for this award.
She will now compete at the national level for administrator of the year. The winner of that contest will be announced at the National Association of Educational Office Professionals conference in July.
Morisette is the third WCC staff member to bring this award home in seven years. Janeil Marak, dean of the Allied Health and Public Service Division, was presented it last year and Dr. Peggy Teague, who held the vice president for academic and student services post at the time, earned it in 2013.
The AEOP is a professional organization of educational office personnel and administrators. It provides its members educational opportunities, a professional standards certificate program, scholarships for member and students, a legislative platform and awards at levels from the individual unit to the state organization.
