A work by Dr. Brian Duffy, a Wayne Community College chemistry instructor, has been published in an international journal.
Duffy collaborated on “At-Home Science and STEM Activities Approval Document” with a Pennsylvania State University faculty member and a science safety consultant/specialist. It was selected by the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA) to be posted on its website as a safety resource and highlighted in “NSTA Reports,” the organization’s weekly e-newsletter.
The work is “a great resource for science classrooms in the new era of virtual learning that provides science educators of all levels (PK-16) a level of protection from shared liability,” Duffy said. “This also allows the science educator and administrator the ability to consider alternative laboratory investigations that would provide a safer learning experience.”
