Students entering 14 technical programs at Wayne Community College may be eligible for renewable scholarships.
The Foundation of Wayne Community College’s “Top Programs” scholarship is designed to encourage students to study and go into certain fields in which there are career opportunities. The programs included on the list are assessed annually.
Those majors are Aviation Systems Technology, Criminal Justice, Early Childhood Education, Emergency Management, Information Technology Business Support, Mechatronics Engineering, Medical Assisting, Medical Laboratory Technology, Office Administration, Pharmacy Technology, Public Safety Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, Swine Management, and Sustainable Agriculture.
These scholarships provide full- or part-time in-state tuition and fees to qualifying students pursuing one of the designated diplomas or degrees at the college. Students must be in good academic standing and have partial or no financial aid to cover tuition.
The deadline to apply is June 30. The scholarship is renewable by re-applying each year.

The Foundation provided more than 500 scholarships worth nearly $395,500 in the past academic year to students enrolled in WCC college credit, Workforce Continuing Education, and Transitional Programs courses. In addition to raising and dispersing funds for scholarships, it provides funding for innovative campus projects and employee recognition, and offers cultural programs for the community.
