Small Business Center Offers Free Seminars

The Wayne Business and Industry Center’s Small Business Center has scheduled 18 no-cost seminars for aspiring and progressing entrepreneurs this fall.

The seminars are:
* Press Start to Begin: How to Level Up Your Business from Idea to Executing –6-8 p.m., Thursday, Aug 8;
* Basics of Bookkeeping – 6-9 p.m., Monday, Aug. 12;
* Ready to Hire Your First Employees? Three Steps to Hiring Success for Potential and Current Small Business Owners – 3-5 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 15;
* Power Networking – 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 22;
* Writing a Business Plan for Current and Future Business Owners – 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 29;
* Boots To Business – 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 17 and 18;
* Access to Capital for Small Business – 2-4p.m., Thursday, Sept. 19;
* Social Media Marketing for Small Business – 6-9 p.m., Monday, Sept. 23;
* How to Improve Your Credit Score to Over 740: Preparing for a Bank Business Loan – 6-9 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 1;
* Boots To Business – 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 7 and 8;
* Financing Your Small Business with Thread Capital – 4-5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 8;
* Sales and Use Tax Small Business Workshop – 4-6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10;
* Quickbooks for Beginners – 9 a.m.-noon, Thursday, Oct. 17;
* Let’s Get Social – 10 a.m.-noon, Monday, Oct. 21;
* Understanding Key Provisions of the 2018 Tax Reform for Small Business – 3-5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 24;
* Boots To Business – 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 4 and 5;
* Small Business Lending – 3-5 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 13;
* Leadership Toolbox for Current and Future Small Business Owners – 10 a.m.-noon, Thursday, Dec. 5; and
* Boots To Business – 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 9 and 10.

There is no charge for any of these seminars. All will be held in Room 101 or 104 of the Walnut Building on the Wayne Community College campus.

The Small Business Center is a component of the Wayne Business and Industry Center (WBIC) at Wayne Community College. The WBIC offers “on time” and “on target” training, counseling, education, and technical services to business and industry in Wayne County. It involves all levels of business and professional organizations in the local community through four main avenues: the Small Business Center, the WORKS Initiative, Military Business Center, and Customized Training Program.
