The Wayne Business and Industry Center’s Small Business Center has scheduled 20 no-cost seminars for aspiring and continuing entrepreneurs over the next few months.
The seminars are:
* ABCs of Starting a Small Business on a Limited Budget – 2-3 p.m. and 6-7 p.m., Aug. 24, Zoom;
* Finding Your Customer and Creating a Marketing Plan – 2-3 p.m. and 6-7 p.m., Aug. 31, Zoom;
* Dynamite Marketing for Small Businesses – 2-3 p.m. and 6-7 p.m., Sept. 7, Zoom;
* Financing Your Small Business – 2-3 p.m. and 6-7 p.m., Sept. 14, Zoom;
* Creating a Winning Business Plan – 2-3 p.m. and 6-7 p.m., Sept. 21, Zoom;
* How to Start a Successful Small Business in NC (in English) – 6-9 p.m., Sept. 23, Walnut 101;
* How to Start a Successful Small Business in NC (in Spanish) – 6-9 p.m., Sept. 30, Walnut 101;
* Bookkeeping Essentials – 6-8 p.m., Oct. 6, Webex;
* Small Business Websites and Blogs – 1-3 p.m., Oct. 19, Webex;
* Quickbooks for Beginners – 6-8 p.m., Oct. 20, Webex;
* How to Finance Your Small Business – 6-9 p.m., Oct. 26, Walnut 101;
* Grant Writing for Non-Profits – 6-8 p.m., Nov. 2, Walnut 101;
* Growing Your Business: Hiring an Employee – 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Nov. 16, Webex;
* Sales and Use Tax (in Spanish) – 3-5 p.m., Nov. 30, Webex; and
* Introduction to Federal Contracting – 3-4:30 p.m., Dec. 8, Walnut 101.
The “Boots to Business” seminar helps military personnel and veterans start small businesses. These seminars are open to active duty military, veterans, and military dependents only. They will be offered via Webex, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Aug. 2-3, Sept. 13-14, Oct. 4-5, Nov. 1-2, and Dec. 6-7.
There is no charge for these seminars.

Those listed as occurring in Walnut 101 will be held in Room 101 of the Walnut Building on the college’s main campus in Goldsboro.

The Small Business Center is part of NC’s dynamic Small Business Center Network and a component of the Wayne Business and Industry Center (WBIC) at Wayne Community College.
