Wayne Community College will hold an event commemorating National Hispanic Heritage Month, which is recognized annually in the United States to celebrate Hispanic Americans.
The Consulate General of Mexico in Raleigh is lending WCC a collection of art titled “68 Voices / 68 Hearts” to be displayed on campus from Oct. 2–13 in the atrium of the Wayne Learning Center, which is the building on the main campus that has the flag poles in front.
Deputy Consul Miguel Antonio Cuesta Zarco from the Consulate General of Mexico in Raleigh will inaugurate the exhibition on Monday, Oct. 2, at 12:00 p.m.
“68 Voices / 68 Hearts” pays tribute to legends told in each of the 68 Mexican indigenous languages. Each legend includes images with an interactive display where the legend is told in its original language with Spanish and English translations.
The exhibition is free to attend and open to the public.
