A portion of Wayne Community College’s walking trail will be temporarily closed due to construction near it.
The trail is located at the back of the campus and wraps around the college’s tennis courts and softball field. The dirt road that forms part of the trail will be in use by construction-related vehicles during part of August.
For approximately two weeks beginning July 31, the course will be rerouted to cut between the two athletic facilities. Signs and caution tape will designate the parts of the trail that are open and the restricted area.
“We are doing this for the safety of the pedestrian traffic on the walking trail,” said WCC Vice President of Administrative Services Don Magoon. “We ask that the public and college community bear with us during this construction time period.”
