Wayne Community College will host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic next week.
The event is set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23 at the college. It is open to the public. No sign-up or advance registration is necessary.
Walgreens personnel will be administering Pfizer vaccines during the clinic.
First and second doses will be administered.
Individuals who received their first Pfizer vaccine at the college’s clinic on Sept. 2, or at a Walgreens store at least 21 days prior to Sept. 23, can get their second shot at this clinic. They must bring their vaccine card with them.
Anyone who receives their first dose at this clinic will have to visit a Walgreens store to receive their second dose immunization.
Participants are encouraged to bring their insurance cards if they have health insurance, but it is not required. There is no charge to the individual and no co-pay, but Walgreens can recoup administrative costs from insurance companies.
Youth ages 12-17 are eligible for the vaccine but must be accompanied by a parent; written permission and phone conversations are not accepted by Walgreens.
Participants should go to Room 161 (“Seminar Room”) in the Wayne Learning Center to check in and complete any necessary paperwork. They should also factor in a 15-minute observation period after vaccination (30 minutes for those with a history of allergic reactions).
WCC requires everyone on its campus to wear a mask when inside buildings and when appropriate distance between individuals cannot be maintained outside.
