Phi Theta Kappa
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is an International Honor Society for community colleges that recognizes the academic achievements of two-year college students while providing its members the opportunities to grow as scholars and leaders.
Interested in becoming an Upsilon Chi member?
Membership into the Upsilon Chi Chapter of PTK is by invitation only. Each semester, every student who has reached the minimum requirements for membership, listed below, will receive an invitation via email from the International Phi Theta Kappa Headquarters. You can only accept and join the Society from this invitation.
Membership requirements:
- Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.5
- Minimum Completed Semester Hours (based on the highest degree being pursued)
- Associate – 12 Semester Hours
- Career and College Promise Pathway – 12 Semester Hours
- Diploma – 12 Semester Hours
- Certificate – 6 Semester Hours
Once you have accepted the invitation, each member must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 to retain a good standing membership. Failure to maintain in good standing will cause the membership to be revoked.
What if I joined Phi Theta Kappa while attending another community college?
Congratulations on your achievement and welcome to Wayne Community College! We would love to have you involved in our Upsilon Chi Chapter of PTK. You are encouraged to transfer your membership to our Chapter and jump straight in with our activities. Please contact Mrs. Holloman for more details.
