Renaissance Online Submission
Renaissance is Wayne Community College’s campus magazine, released every spring, which includes contributions from faculty, staff, and students.
If you are or have been a staff member, faculty member, or student during this year or the previous calendar year, you are invited to submit your writing, artwork, and/or other artistic creations for this year’s issue.
When submitting electronically, each work should be saved separately, with the creator’s last name and the title of the work as the filename. Example: Smith-Locket.docx.
Visual Artwork
Static (non-moving) visual artwork should be submitted in physical or digital form. Digital submissions must be at least 300 dpi and of approximately the same dimensions as the original artwork. Save each file in high quality. (A cell phone camera photograph of an artwork is generally unacceptable.) If you are unable to reproduce your artwork that way, please submit a physical version to be photographed and returned to you. File types: jpg.
Written Work
Works of literary fiction, nonfiction, and poetry may be submitted in digital or printed form. Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) or rich text (.rtf) preferred; PDFs are acceptable.
Spoken Word
Spoken word literary works must be submitted in digital form (if the file size is at or below 8mb) or via URL if larger (provide a password if you have uploaded the work to a file-sharing site and password-protected it). Files may be edited for length and/or content. Minimum length, 1 minute; maximum length, 5 minutes. File types: .wav, .aiff, .m4a, .mp3. Spoken word entries may coordinate with written literary works and you may submit them simultaneously, with similar names.
Photography
Photography is preferred in digital form, but may be accepted in physical form. If submitting digital files, save each file in high quality. File types: jpg.
Sheet Music
Sheet music may be submitted in digital or physical form. If submitting digital files, save each file in high quality.
Short Films
Short films must be submitted in digital form (if the file size is at or below 8mb) or via URL if larger (provide a password if you have uploaded the work to a file-sharing site and password-protected it). Films may be edited for length and/or content. Minimum length, 2 minutes; maximum length, 5 minutes. File types: .mpeg, .mov, .avi, .m4v, .mp4.
Song Recordings
Song recordings must be submitted in digital form (if the file size is at or below 8mb) or via URL if larger (provide a password if you have uploaded the work to a file-sharing site and password-protected it). Songs may be edited for length and/or content. Minimum length, 1 minute; maximum length, 5 minutes. File types: .wav, .aiff, .m4a, .mp3.
NOTE: If you are submitting a URL rather than an upload, please create a Word file with the URL(s) and password(s) (if required to gain access to the file) and upload the Word file in the form below.
