SEED Summer Academies

Grow Your Skills with SEED at Wayne Community College!

Applications are now open for the 2025 SEED Summer Academies in Advanced Manufacturing and Agriculture!

Eligibility: Open to NC high school students and recent graduates (c/o 2025), 16+ years old by May 21, 2025.

Explore the worlds of industrial systems or agriculture.
Earn $15/hour
8-week, paid program (25–28 hours/week, Mon-Thurs)
Earn up to 15 college credits, transferrable to a Registered Apprenticeship or Associate Degree Program
Hands-on learning experiences
Field trips to local businesses
Stipends for travel and supplies
In-classroom learning led by industry professionals

Student(s) and their parent(s) must attend an information session before they are accepted into the academy.

VIRTUAL sessions are being offered on February 18 and February 19.
